Pete Rickard’s Super Crystal Concentrate Logwood Dye 8 oz, Black

Logwood Dye helps prevent rust and overcomes trap odors which can deter animals from your trap. One package of Pete Rickard’s logwood trap dye will treat three dozen traps.

Directions:

New Traps – Boil in a strong household degreaser or lye solution to remove oil and rinse thoroughly. Hang outside until traps develop a good even coat of surface rust. Empty one pack of dye into six gallons of hot water and stir until completely dissolved. Hold jaws apart with a nail or other item and dip traps into solution. Boil approximately 20 minutes until desired color is obtained.

Used Traps – Boil traps in hot water to remove dirt, wax and contamination. One pack of dye mixed with 18 gallons of water is usually sufficient for used traps.
